10.10 – That New New

Welcome to the 2nd full week of October as we keep it moving right along with TNN. It was a little bit quieter on the big name releases this past week but there was still a lot of high quality music dropping left and right. First up is a new leak from Baauer, who’s already released his debut LP in 2016 and cemented himself as a nu school producer extraordinaire. He seems to be gearing up to drop more material as this is the 2nd new joint he’s shared in recent weeks. Next is an official sign that the Spotify and Apple Music worlds are about to drastically change with the content they host. DJ Jazzy Jeff has uploaded an unofficial remix of Anderson .Paak’s “Room In Here” and Spotify is letting this thing live on it’s site (THIS IS HUGE). Plus the remix is smooth as silk. Finally, we’ve got a new one from Indiana’s Flaco. We shared one of his tunes over the summer and this dude proves again how dexterous he his with the flows. You can check out all 3 in full below.

TNN walks us into the first week of October and of course we saw some high quality music hit our ears. First up, we’ve got new material from Kid Cudi as he’s been quoted as saying this upcoming release is a return to form, if you will. The B-side to the two new tracks he dropped this week “Frequency” is some classic sounding Cudi for sure. Next up is what feels like will be a huge new single from Cashmere Cat’s upcoming solo debut LP. “Trust Nobody” features Selena Gomez and Tory Lanez. Last up, is up-and-coming producer Owen Bones with the first single on his upcoming release. “Mach Five” features guest shots from Tunji Ige and lil aaron. Stream all 3 in full below.

TNN is back after a week off last week and just in time to welcome in fall (aka 4th quarter). It’s been heavy hitters dropping great music all year but 4th quarter always seems to bring them out tenfold. Kicking it off is a brand new one from recently reunited group, The Cool Kids. This sounds hard, focused and really impressive. Secondly, in what’s probably even bigger news, we’ve got the audio to back up the story from last month about The Weeknd and Daft Punk working together. “Starboy” is going to pop in a major way. There’s no other way around it. Finally, we’ve got the first single from the upcoming NxWorries LP, which is the duo made up of 2016 breakout star Anderson .Paak with his producer partner, Knxwledge. TNN is back after a week off last week due to the Labor Day holiday. The fall flood of new music is most definitely on though and the quality already seems like it’s going to be super high this final quarter of 2016. First up, we’ve got a hypnotic tune off of Travis Scott’s excellent new LP. “Goosebumps” stands out on this release and that’s not just because Kendrick Lamar comes through with his usually scene stealing guest verse. Second, we’ve got a Zack de la Rocha solo sighting and he’s on an El-P beat and sounds hungry. This is an exciting equation. Lastly, we’ve got a new one from D.R.A.M. who’s just fired off another super addictive song. Stream all 3 in full below.

8.29 – That New New

We’ve got a handful of cool new joints this week for TNN as we put a close to August (i.e. Summer) and start to officially say what’s up to Labor Day weekend, football season and (*fingers crossed*) cooler temperatures. First up this week is a brand new one from Migos with Lil Uzi Vert and Metro Boomin in tow. It’s as dope as that lineup would suggest, regardless of what all the old heads are stirring up online about the new jacks in rap these days. Next we have a new collaboration from Kaytranada and Goldlink, who’ve definitely established a great chemistry that’s on full display here again. Finally, we’ve got a remix to a underrated summer jam from Starrah. The remix has added Kehlani to the fold and provides a definitive winning formula. Stream all three tunes in full below.

8.22 – That New New

Last week of August and summer is definitely holding onto it’s last few breathes. And per usual, new releases were super eventful for TNN. Like 35 new songs from Frank Ocean eventful. 4 years and weird delay after continuous silence on targeted release days/months and all of the sudden, we’ve got a lot to digest. First up this week is the visually stunning video for his single “Nikes”, which is just one example of this flood of new music from him. Next, we’ve got a great new one from Florida’s Twelve’len, who’s absolutely on his own thing and “Star Dust” feels like it could become an anthem with the right push. Lastly, and her debut release, we have Lully with “Slow Ds”, a glimpse of what future pop/indie/soul/dance music can sound like if listeners ever find their balance between the easily digestible and challenging. Stream/view all 3 in full below.

8.15 – That New New

Man it’s freaking hot in NY and air conditioning is truly a god send. Summer is on it’s last legs though and we’re starting to switch into the fall release schedule, with some massive records due very soon. This past week still had some great stuff hit our radar, per usual. Sometimes all you need to do is dig a bit (i.e. click some links). First up is some new stuff from De La Soul with a really dope feature from Little Dragon. Next we’ve got a collab from Porter Robinson & Madeon, two of the only EDM dudes who actually appear like they want to mature their sound. Last, we’ve got a new one from Larry June’s latest super solid EP. Stream all 3 in full below.

8.8 – That New New

We took a week off from TNN as we recovered from the righteous and wild 14 year anniversary festivities of a couple weeks back. Bless the internet and the creative types for continuing to hold it down as it was easy to get back into the new music discovery flow this week. First up, we’ve got a new 2 Chainz mixtape and it’s dope. “Chirp” is an early fav and it’s just as ridiculous as it is amazing. Next, we’ve got a funky new midtempo joint from Miguel as he’s becoming an incredibly consistent bet with his music at this point. Finally, we’ve got a new single from D.R.A.M. and it’s got a little happy go lucky anthem type feel to it as it’s a shout out to all the “Cute” ladies out there. Stream all three in full below.

7.25 – That New New

Another week and another big week of new tunes to digest. We’re diving right into anniversary week with a nice burst of new new to share so let’s get right to it. First up is the new one from Major Lazer. They (Diplo) has been teasing that there was a collab with Justin Bieber on the way and it’s finally here. Also featuring MØ and it will be hard to get in the way of what’s sure to be another huge global hit. Second up is a new one from PARTYNEXTDOOR. This OVO artist has announced his 2nd LP due in a couple weeks and “Not Nice” continues on some of the tropical vibes he contributed to Drake’s ‘Views’. Lastly, we’ve got a new one from Flamingosis. This sample heavy beatmaker is always thick on the funk and fun and his latest LP is due this week. Check out “Magic” from him while we wait for the new album to drop. Stream all 3 tunes in full below.

7.18 – That New New

TNN keeps it moving this week as the new music flood never stops. We’ve got some electronic and hip-hop newness for you including a resounding return to form from an influential dance act. Justice are back with a new single, “Safe and Sound”. It’s party gritty french disco and part return to the pop crossover days of “D.A.N.C.E” and it feels pretty massive on first listen. Next up, we’ve got Onda flipping Gallant’s “Bourbon” into a midtempo tropical pop banger. Finally, we’ve got FLACO out of Indianapolis and his head nod vibes of “New Things” that has instant replay value. Check out all 3 in full below.
